“I should like the coming generation to be brilliant, enlightened, intelligent and progressiveness.”

I chose this words of wisdom by Dr. Rizal because the youth must be spontaneous and ready to face the reality. Our role is to bring success and change on our society. Youth is the ideal time to pursue a big dream that is full of passion and energy. Although the period is full of adventures, youth must be sought out with open eyes. It is now that we can give shape to our ideas for societal economic development. It is also time to move forward which can be accomplished through vocational awareness and critical examination of individual differences. Youth have the ideas, creativity and enthusiasm to help form a better society. Youth are full of hope and through invention and imagination, they are problem solvers with a vast potential to make positive social impact in the society. We are indeed the way of future. We are one of the most vibrant components of the country and there is great hope for us. Youth can contribute to the nation’s development if they have the right mindset and abilities. The youth are the driving force behind a country’s progress and development.

“Everybody knows the power and the prudence of the women in the Philippines”

I chose this words of wisdom by Dr. Rizal because women play a wide range of important roles in our society. Several female historical figures have earned their place in history. From fighting for Philippine Independence to entering battle and advocating for women’s rights, women in the Philippines have consistently broken down barriers to improve the lives around them. They have showed their fighting spirit that gender should not be an hindrance to be a strong person. We are born naked and equal. Whatever the rights of men should be also enjoy by the women. Filipino women must be aware on how to defend their dignity and honor. A woman not only brings competitions to the workplace but she also aids in the collaboration of ideas and the proper execution of teamwork. They contribute to the dissemination of a viewpoint that values an open economy, modernity and social system.
As a result, we must strive to create an environment of integrity for all of our mothers, sisters and daughters. We must boost their confidence so that they are capable of making decisions in all stages of life and this is how we can work towards women’s empowerment.

“Ang kamangmanga’y kaalipinan.”

I chose this words of wisdom by Dr. Rizal because knowledge renders a man unfit to serve as a slave. Because of our ignorance, we will be technological slaves for the rest of our lives unless we change. With the slaves, their quwst of knowledge set them free for good. We are controlled unwillingly just like in traditional slavery. Ignorance will have a long term consequences that will jeopardize our well-being. We are dehumanized and constrained in the same that traditional slaves were. There is no purpose in having knowledge that leads to one’s own demise. Knowledge should allow you to pursue the proper path in life in a way that benefits both yourself and society as whole. Great men and women have applied their knowledge to achieve elevated heights that will be remembered for a long time on this country. Knowing the value of information, people must look for opportunities to acquire it and put it to good use. People’s success is determined by their knowledge. The greater your knowledge, the greater your advantage over the oppressors. The better competent you are to handle yourself and others , the smoother your life path will be. Above all, knowlege must be put to good use. Lastly, according to Mr. Auld Douglass, “Knowledge is the pathway from slavery to freedom.”
